What is this?
Join us at Hector Wine Company for our June WWS event/meeting to explore old world and new world Syrah with Rick Rainy of Forge Wine Cellars.
Rick Rainy is our authority on Old World Syrah for this month's event at Hector Wine Company. Rick has been with Winebow for nearly twenty years, where he is a divisional manager and has years of hands-on experience with old world wines. In addition he is a partner in Forge Cellars and is also growing grapes in the Finger Lakes region. Rick will walk us through three old world Syrahs taking the time to explore l
ocation, history, climate, and winemaking while tasting through.
We are also excited to have Lynn George from Jackson Family Wines. Similar to Rick, Lynn also has a background in the world of wine distribution and has been in the industry for 20+ years. Lynn will take us through three New World Syrahs and discuss with us the similarities and differences between the old and new world styles.
At our June event, we will be selling raffle tickets for gift baskets that will help us to fund our first WWS Finger Lakes Chapter Scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded to a member of our chapter later this year. The gift baskets will be raffled off at the end of evening. Cost of the raffle tickets is $3 or 2 for $5.
Food will be catered by Daños Heuriger.
Hope to see you there!
