What is this?
In this class, we'll move beyond grape variety and explore how site shapes a wine's character, price and quality. Using comparative tastings, students will learn and taste how factors such as soil, climate and topography affect grape ripening and shape components such as acid, tannin, sugar and aromas. If you've ever wondered why some vintages are ageworthy and others not or whether it's worth it to pay $800 for a wine from a "Grand Cru" vineyard, this is the class for you!
