ROC: Bubbly Made Easy - A Guide to the Most Popular Sparkling Wines: Session 2

Bubbly Made Easy
A Guide to the Most Popular Sparkling Wines

Whether you are buying for your in-laws, your boss, your favorite hostess with the mostest, or yourself, nothing says holidays like a bottle of sparkling wine. But as fun and elegant as bubblies are, an entire aisle of effervescent extravagance can make your head spin before ever taking a sip. In November, we will be hitting the basics of the three most popular picks to help you take the work out of choosing the right type so you can get back to what’s important: gifting and sipping!

A little about our presenter Cheryl Dianetti:

Cheryl Dianetti started her career working in restaurants, and that is where she fell in love with wine. She works for Opici Family Distributing, a wine distributor representing 24 New York State properties, along with wineries from all over the world. She loves the opportunity to share her passion with others. The best feeling she gets is working with people, both consumers and customers alike, and seeing the “light bulb" come on. Knowing they understand something new that they may not have had the background or opportunity to learn, had she not shared her expertise with them, makes all the difference in the world.

Cheryl was a founding board member of the current FLX chapter – sitting on the board as a membership chair. Today she currently holds the positions of President of the Finger Lakes Chapter and Membership Director on the National board. Cheryl says, "I joined the Women for WineSense FLX chapter at its current inception, and my motivation was always about education. My vision for this chapter is to create a professional forum where both women and men can come together to learn, appreciate, and love wine."

Cheryl's interest and involvement in wine have brought her to this point in her career, and she can’t imagine doing anything else. She spends most of her time exploring the Finger Lakes, as that is where her heart is. She has been to the California wine regions, and her travel bucket list includes New Zealand, Spain, and Italy. She is the proud mother of rescue dogs and says that their unconditional love keeps her balanced.

Giving Back to Our Community:

This month, we are pleased to support a very worthwhile charity,The Scott Spino Literacy Program”. The program was launched at Lincoln School 22, in September 2005 where Scott Spino, was a teacher, passionate about making a difference in the lives of the children. Scott was killed by a drunk driver on October 31, 2004, and in honor and in memory of his short but extraordinary life, The Scott Spino Foundation was established.

The mission of the Literacy Program is to increase students’ access to literature. With this access, the Foundation has seen an enhancement in the students’ reading skills, an improvement in their word recognition, and the beginning or expansion of their home library.

The Scott Spino Literacy Program provides books and volunteers for 19 schools in 6 different School Districts – They give away approximately 1,700 books each month (17,000 books per year) and have over 300 volunteers who read to children in grades K-2 on a monthly basis.

For complete details please go to:  https://www.scottspinofoundation.org/.  Please support this worthwhile charity by bringing a check or cash to this meeting.  Donations can also be made through their website.
