FLX: Discover Local Cider!
You sipped, we listened! We know our members love bubbles! Come enjoy some sparkling ciders with us, and learn about the cider process that is actually legally governed by wine legislation. That's right, we'll be sipping on local cider for this months event! Come try something new with us - or perhaps you're already a cider fanatic - at the Finger Lakes Cider House for a fun, socially distanced event in their beautiful, homey, space on the farm!
Finger Lakes Cider House at Good Life Farm is the hub of the hard cider renaissance in New York apple country. Come enjoy a flight of their delicious ciders and insanely local food samplings, sourced from FLX farms, including their very own Good Life Farm!
About Our Speaker:
Garrett is a bit of an unconventional guy, with a bit of an unconventional bio. As a young person (17) Garrett traveled the country learning agricultural and construction skills from an incredible set of mentors. A Finger Lakes native, he moved back to the region at 22 years old and started the farm that has become the Finger Lakes Cider House today. The farm was started on a bare 70 acre crop field with a shovel, a backpack and a lot of energy. The work being done here comprises most of Garrett's working life and is still a massive effort in progress. It's a working farm, a winery/cidery production facility, a farm to table café, a hospitality venue, and an ongoing experiment to see if we can leave the land a little better than when we found it. Garrett owes all of his successes to the amazingly generous mentors that have guided him along the way and to the teachings from the land itself. He is also less crazy than this makes him sound...
