LA: Mother Daughter Wine Duos



We are SO excited about our next event, featuring our very own member, Sheila Donohue! Sheila is sommelier, founder and CEO at Vero (which means "real" in Italian), curating limited edition, sustainably made wines, olive oils and foods from around the world. Two of the wineries in Sheila's incredible portfolio happen to be mother-daughter teams, and what better way to celebrate Mother's Day weekend than sipping their wine?! 

Join us Saturday, May 8th (the day before Mother's Day) at 12pm PT on Zoom for a familial tasting event of delicious proportions. Sheila will tell us her fascinating story of living in Italy, moving to California, and breaking into the wine business. Then she’ll take us on a trip to Italy to meet the first or our two mother daughter duos Hilde Petrussa and her daughter Francesca live from their winery, Vigna Petrussa in Friuli, where we will taste one of the white varietals unique to their region, Ribolla Gialla. 

Our second stop is a little closer to home, as Sheila introduces us to Patti Mitchell and her daughter Jacqueline of Ojai Pacific View Vineyards. Patti specializes in Dolcetto, a red varietal commonly found in the Piedmont region of Italy. We will visit with them as we sip their 2017 vintage.

Tickets are just $40 for members and $45 for non-members, and include local delivery of both wines. (full 750mL bottles). We encourage everyone to invite their mother, daughter or a special person in their life to join this special event. If your guest will be tuning in from elsewhere, or if you simply want to tune in without the wines, "Zoom Link Only" tickets are available for just $5.

Wine kits will be delivered locally the day before the event. To ensure delivery, the cutoff time for buying tickets is Thursday, 5/6 at 5pm PT.

The Wines



The Northeastern Italian indigenous Ribolla Gialla grapes transform into an elegant white wine that is excellent as aperitif and pairs divinely with starters and fish-based dishes. This Ribolla Gialla is a great way for Pinot Grigio lovers to step out of the box, and its floral flavors with a mineral finish add a fine touch to this fresh and juicy white wine. 


This rare find, small production Dolcetto grown from a one acre single vineyard in Ojai, California. This 2017 is Ojai Pacific View's inaugural vintage. This wine has aromas of fresh plums,  notable acidity to balance out the fruitiness and rustic tannins.
