FLX: Breaking Down Bordeaux

What do Rob Poole, Kim White and Jenna Pultinas all have in common besides saving cats, a special place in their heart for venison and being parents?  They’re all life long students of wine and in this case, they all speak un peu (a little bit) of French.

This February we ask, Parlez vous Francais? Whether it’s oui, non or something in between, when it comes to winesense and women, it’s nonsense to think you have to be fluent to join the conversation.  So, on y va (let’s go)!

This special evening aims to make you the master of your “domain” as we breakdown Bordeaux through real life experiences and unique perspectives as they relate to France’s highest AC producing wine region.

Stark Street Gardens will host us for a truly unique dining experience in their historic Greenhouse. Chef Luis Segura will prepare an inspired three course meal to pair with these avant-garde wine styles.

The night will continue with a hands on blending trial, we will examine and discuss the infamous blends of Bordeaux as they both juxtapose and intertwine with the history of the Finger Lakes.

Jenna Pultinas is a winemaker, cider maker, vineyard worker, consultant, activist and mother.

Cru class: blends; Aspires to make red blends expressive of the vintage, has yet to travel to Bordeaux.

Kim Marconi is a winemaker, scientist, teacher, traveler, activist and mother.

Cru class: student and teacher; she actually worked a vintage at Chateau Siran!

Rob Poole is a farmer, conservationist, environmentalist, historian, teacher, supporter, problem solver, hunter and grandfather.

Cru class: Terroir; no direct translation to English but he has provided many beginning winemakers a sense of place as they set out on their journeys.
