Erin Hughes and Karen Desmond are back with our favorite topic and yours - red wine! Test your tastebuds with a blind tasting of red wines produced using a single red grape varietal along with some fun trivia questions. Challenge your tablemates and yourself to see how well you know your red grapes. 


- Should red wine be decanted every time you open a bottle?
- Which grapes are the parents of Cabernet Sauvignon?

Meet the Speakers

Erin Hughes is a lover of red wines, especially if they are big and bold. Erin is a past Women For WineSense Rochester Chapter board member. She served on the board as our Hospitality Director for two years. Erin works from her home with her three cats and travels whenever and wherever she can.

Karen Desmond has been a long-time member of Women For WineSense and has served on the Rochester Chapter board in numerous positions. Currently, Karen serves are the Chapter President and Technology Director. Karen also serves on the National Board as National Technology Director and on the Finger Lakes chapter board as well. She is an IT Professional and has worked at a local winery and liquor store.
