Please join the Finger Lakes Chapter of Women For WineSense and outgoing National President, Donna Schlosser-Long, as she takes us on a tour of California Red Wines. We will focus on 5 Californian varietal wines: Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Zinfandel, plus a Red Blend! Let's taste our way through Old and New World-styles of wine that put California on the map as world class wine making region. You will get a taste of some popular wines, as well as hidden gems that you are sure to love! California wines have captivated the media from the Judgement of Paris in 1978, to Bottle Shock, to Sideways... and Donna will share with you all the important things you need to know. Come share a taste of wine, a story, (or twelve) and lots of laughs with Donna as she shares her passion of all-things wine!
About Donna
Donna joined Jackson Family Winesin August of 2021 as the Upstate New York District Manager. Donna spent the last two decades in the Wine Industry in New York in many facets of the industry. Her career in the wine business began in 2002 as Director of Outside Sales at Casa Larga Vineyards, a small family owned winery in the Finger Lakes. Each position in the industry lead to another amazing opportunity. One of her favorite positions was as Western New York Regional Manager for Frederick Wildman & Sons, Ltd, an importing company based in Manhattan that represents many of the leading properties in France, Italy, Spain, Argentina among many other regions. Traveling World Class Wine Regions and learning about wine is something she is very passionate about.
Donna held the position of National President of Women For WineSense. She has held various positions on the Rochester Board of Women For WineSense and her proudest accomplishment is assisting a team of women to revive the Finger Lakes Chapter of Women For WineSense. She has earned her WSET Level 3 Certification and passed The Court of Master Sommeliers Introduction Course. Donna is the co-founder of Naked Dove Brewing Company and has two sons, William (age 17) and Nathaniel (age 14).
