THC: Winemaker for a Day
Slip behind the scenes at Hilmy Cellars as winemaker Michael Barton teaches you a bit about how wine blends are made. You will be randomly assigned to a small team and together you will create a red wine blend. Michael will taste the wines and choose a winner!
While we anxiously await the winning team to be announced, you can purchase any Hilmy wine from their menu or indulge in a specially priced wine chosen for the event. Have a glass or take some bottles home. You will also be treated to a couple of Carnitas Street Tacos while you wait (sorry, special diets cannot be accommodated).
Each member of the winning team will be gifted a certificate for a free wine tasting to be used at Hilmy Cellars on another day. The wine cellar can be a chilly spot, so be sure to dress in layers or bring a sweater. Remember to drink plenty of water. You will be tasting several wines while creating your blend, so please prepare to spit and drink responsibly.
Advance reservation is required. A portion of your reservation fee goes towards our new wine education scholarship program. We will begin promptly at 4:00 so please arrive a few minutes early. Members, non-members, women, men, industry professionals and casual wine lovers, everyone is invited. Seating is limited to 50, so RSVP asap. We’ll also have a wine pull so be sure to buy your $20 wine pull tickets separately or bring cash (proceeds go directly to our wine education scholarship).
