‘Tis the season for celebration! What better way to make the season bright than with…Champagne, Champagne, and more Champagne! Join us to explore the Champagne region in France, which put bubbles on the map!

Come learn about what makes this region so much more than the traditionally
known brands such as, Dom Perignon, with the incredible beverage educator, Maureen Bayer. We are honored to take this tour of the Champagne region and the varying styles of Champagne that are available with you.

A few fun facts to get you started... Did you know?

-300 million bottles of Champagne are produced every year!

-A standard bottle of Champagne contains 49 MILLION bubbles!

-Winston Churchill had Champagne every day at 11 AM.

-The most expensive bottle of Champagne ever sold cost $2.09 MILLION! (Sadly, we will not be tasting
this one).

We welcome you to an exclusive evening filled with various styles of Champagne, on December 18th at the Harbor Hotel in Watkins Glen. It will be an evening of celebration and connection, so put on your finest threads.

While we celebrate the Champagne region, we will also be celebrating our Finger Lakes Chapter and those who support all that we do!

Bottle Pull!



Amongst the celebrations, we invite you to participate in our semi-annual Bottle Pull! For the purchase of a $15* ticket, you will receive a mystery bottle of wine from our Chapter Library. The proceeds go directly toward our Scholarship and Grants program, providing support for our members to further their wine education. *All Chapter Library wines hold a minimum $15 value, if not greater.

About Maureen



Maureen Bayer is a certified wine nerd. Starting out in beverage retail she has held various positions in the industry both on and off-premise as well as in distribution. She is a graduate from RIT and the CIA (Culinary Institute of America). Maureen is a wine and spirits consultant for Opici Family Distributing.

Maureen is a WSET Diploma holder, as well as a certified educator for the Wine & Spirits Education Trust. She is a Certified Wine Educator from the Society of Wine Educators and Certified Sommelier by the Court of Master Sommeliers. Maureen’s love for learning and beverage education led her to launching Bayer Beverage, an approved program provider for the WSET certifications.
