Join the National Virtual Chapter of Women For WineSense as we have a conversation with our friend Maryam Ahmed, owner of Maryam + Company, on Wednesday, November 29th at 8pm ET/5pm PT.
Some of our members might be very familiar with Maryam as she served as the Napa-Sonoma Chapter President of Women For WineSense from 2017 until 2019. Others may have seen Maryam as a Future 40 Tastemaker on the cover of Wine Enthusiast magazine last year! Maryam is a Napa, CA-based food and wine entrepreneur, speaker, writer, and community builder in the world of food and wine. Maryam + Company creates education and experiential programs that celebrate food and wine while building accountability for diversity and sustainability. Before launching her business, Maryam was the director of public programs at the Culinary Institute of America in California for nearly five years. Since then, she has created Field Blends, an immersive food and wine travel experience, and the Diversity in Wine Leadership Forum, projects that have earned Maryam + Company the 2023 Impact Award from the Wine & Culture Festival and a nomination for the Social Visionary Wine Star Award in 2022, not to mention the Women for WineSense Rising Star award in 2020! We'll dive in on the entrepreneurial ecosystem Maryam has built, her take on sustainability, and how she celebrates the women in her wine world.

About Maryam Ahmed:
Maryam Ahmed is a Napa, CA based food and wine entrepreneur. As the owner of Maryam + Company, a certified B Corporation, she works at the intersection of sommeliers, chefs, activists, sustainability experts, media, and organizations focused on diversity and sustainability to design impact-driven brand extension and educational programs that celebrate food and wine. She is the creator of Field Blends, an immersive food and wine travel experience focused on opening up conversations about what’s emerging in wine and agriculture. Maryam is the co-founder of the Diversity in Wine Leadership Forum, which she leads in partnership with Dr. Akilah Cadet. Maryam was named a Wine Enthusiast Future 40 Tastemaker in 2022, received the 2023 Impact Award from the Wine & Culture Festival, was listed as one of the Imbibe 75, and nominated for the Social Visionary Wine Star Award in 2022. She is also a cast member on SOMM TV, a published writer, public speaker, and a partner at PLAYTE Kitchen.
