Our chapter passionately embodies the Women for WineSense mission by creating a welcoming and inclusive community for individuals at all levels of wine knowledge. We actively promote growth through informative and engaging wine tastings, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for the diverse world of wine, its rich cultural heritage, and its historical significance. What truly distinguishes our chapter is the ability to bridge the gap between both seasoned professionals and enthusiastic newcomers to expand their expertise in a refreshing and inviting atmosphere as well as hosting with innovative events live and virtually.

In September 2019 the Grapevine Chapter held their first event by “attending” the Facebook Live event presented by the Finger Lakes Chapter showcasing NY State wines. The chapter was founded by Sheila Rasmussen, President, along with board members, Julie Marshall (Secretary), Julie Touchstone (Treasurer) and Whitney Johnson (Events), and Karen Trail (Newsletter). Some Grapevine Chapter board members have taken on National Board positions such as National Education Director and National Chapter Development Director. Our chapter continues to grow annually in loyal membership and has a dedicated and motivated board leading the charge.

The Grapevine Chapter is committed to giving back to our communities. In 2024, our members are volunteering, donating, and supporting the Grace organization.

GRACE is a nonprofit relief agency that provides food, clothing, financial assistance, and other vital necessities to people who are struggling with a limited income or recent emergency.
